COOTAMUNDRA SEWING CENTRE

MARCH 2010 NEWSLETTER

I know, I know, I missed February completely didn’t I !! Well it is a short month anyway.

So lots of the new fabrics that I have been raving on about are now finally arriving.  Michael Miller is quickly becoming one of my favourite designers and just new in is his Rosebud Fairy panel with some matching frosts. I look forward to receiving the flannel fairy fabric – yes I said flannel – within the next month. And keep an eye out for some corduroy too!!

The fabric club is well and truly up and running with great response.  New members are welcome anytime and makes a great gift idea for a friend.

Leanne Beasley’ s new block of the month patterns have finally arrived and so now I am very busy cutting up the fabrics for the blocks and I hope to also find time to stitch some blocks up for samples.

I have now completed two Seaspray weekend workshops with another planned for May for those interested.

My next workshop  is a layer cake design and is now hanging on the wall in the shop. It is perfect for beginners or those just wanting a relaxing stitching day out. I hope to get enough numbers for Sunday 21st March. Names taken now.

I am already stitching for my next new workshop – another jelly roll design – I am using some old retro prints for this one.

Nana’s Garden range has arrived and is lovely and soft colours with a panel and matching border print.

Rosalie Quinlan Book A Stitch In TimeLots and lots of new patterns and books are in including Rosalie Quinlan’s book A Stitch in Time, and designs by Hatched and Patched, Melly and Me, Cinderberry Stitches, Natalie Ross and many more.

Just arrived in time as I am writing this newsletter is a flannel  range called Brandy Wine – how nice is the name even – in tones of burgundy, green and cream.

Soon in will be Sweetwater’s Make Life, new Moda jelly rolls and layer cakes as well as other bits and pieces.

Just in also are cuddle dimples. Too hard to explain this one you just have to call in to the shop to see. The colours are cream, duck egg blue, fuschia pink and lime green. Great for babies and little ones – very soft to touch.

Alot of wool has arrived this week with more to come. Please do not hesitate to ask to see the new shade cards and I will order lots in for you.

Hatched and Patched book A Boys StoryHatched and Patched have advised that there has been a printing error in her new book A Boys Story – I have the new insert sticker and so if you have bought her book from my shop could you please call in and I will amend it.

You can also now catch up with happenings in the shop on the internet. Yes I now have a website which is www.cootamundrasewingcentre.com. Just give me a couple weeks to get the updates on but there’s some nice pictures to look at for the moment.

Please keep dropping in and seeing what is new in the shop as there is too much to mention.

There are still places available for classes Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Some new dress fabrics are also slowly drifting in as well as new designs by Make it Perfect.

I hope to improve the newsletter to soon to add in some photos – I will get there eventually – thank you for your support in the meantime.

And finally, any fat quarters already cut from the $5.00 basket are only $3.00 to fabric club members this month only.
