Cootamundra Sewing Centre May 2010 Newsletter

Wouldn’t it be great if we could buy time. I would get bucket loads!! As I find myself again running late for this newsletter.

I will get around to posting on my website photos of all the new fabrics as mentioned in this newsletter asap.

The florals by Mrs March mentioned in the last newsletter have arrived in choc brown, burgundy, sage green, blue and pink along with some great co-ordinating filler prints.

Also to arrive was nine prints from the Filigree collection.

Cootamundra Sewing Centre | Everything But The Kitchen Sink 1930s Patchwork Quilting FabricTwelve 1930’s prints from a range called Everything but the Kitchen Sink are selling well as they are so nice.

Lots of flannels perfect for that special winter quilt or for those comfy pair of pjs. A beaut range of pinks and blues with a hint of brown.

Quite a nice group of khaki prints, Michael Miller cupcakes fabric, monster trucks and more.

A teddy bear cot panel with a tossed bear print, check, spots and border print to match all in blues.

I have Jinny Beyer’s new book which is jam packed with block information ideal for those wanting to design their own quilts.

Still holding out for the the Good Tidings Christmas prints by Nancy Halvorsen…

… and a large Civil war range by Judie Rothermel due to arrive.

Christmas in July will be held at The Shirley Bethungra on Saturday 17 July. I will be organising this to be a full sewing day from 9:30am to around 5:30pm. There will be an option to stay and have dinner and accommodation for the night for those wanting to kick on til the wee hours.

Price for the day includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and two course meal $110.00

For those wanting to stay the night a room will cost you extra and you will need to get in touch with me to book on a first in first serve basis. I will be on duty to assist with any sewing hiccups on Saturday but will not be available on the Sunday due to other commitments however you are most welcome to stay and sew on that day as well (included in the $110.00) which will get you morning tea and lunch on Sunday.

Precut kits for the day will be available or bring in a pattern and I will kit it up for you and no it does not have to be a Christmas project.

New in the wool are some really nice colours in ranges called Wilderness and Folklore. I have every shade in Panda 8ply Magnum and Patons Dreamtime 4ply and as the weather cools our minds turn to knitting as well as sewing – yes we try to do it all don’t we.

My extra shelving is being made as we speak as I desperately need a home for all the beautiful fabrics.

I also have some wools heavily reduced and just a last note to keep checking the store for the 20% and 50% off boxes as these are constantly changing.

HOT OFF THE PRESS before going to print Judie Rothermel’s civil war tribute range has arrived!!
